This place is great if you're a fan of Indian food but looking for something beyond the standard fare. The momo appetizer is advertised as their most popular Nepalese dish, and I can see why. The order came with four lamb-filled dumplings and a tomato/curry dipping sauce. You can tell that the food is high quality because it's flavorful without feeling overly heavy or oily. For my main course, I got the chicken jalfreyzi, a masala-style dish, with a side of garlic naan. Both came in generous portions, and the naan seemed freshly baked. The jalfreyzi sauce was flavorful, but nowhere near spicy enough to merit a spot in the three-chili-pepper section of the menu. This is my only complaint. Coming from outside the UK, I expect food to be flavorful by default, and I expect spicy food to actually be spicy. A word to South Asian chefs in the area: Next time you hear an American accent, you had better not hold back with the chilis.
UPDATE: I took my parents here when they came to visit. My mom is an even bigger fan of spicy food than I am, so we specifically asked for the unadulterated versions of two of their spiciest Nepalese specialties, one prawn dish and one lamb. Both were fantastic and brought real heat this time. Same outstanding quality as before. I'm upping my previous four-star rating to five, with the caveat that you should be sure to let them know if you want serious spiciness. -

The chicken korma and garlic naan were delicious! The naan was so fluffy and it went perfectly with the chicken korma :) I also enjoyed the vegetable samosas!
I also ordered the poppadom, which I had never seen before so I wanted to give it a shot. I'm not sure if it's just how it is, but I wasn't really a fan of it. But it was still interesting to try something new!
I can't speak for the staff or the restaurant since I ordered to-go. -

Ordered for delivery via app. App worked ok. Food from this restaurant is good. However, Delivery person tried to pretend that they could not find where I lived and I had to come out of my house, out of my estate onto the main road to collect. Which defeats the purpose of ordering in. Oxford has quite a lot of good Indian restaurant/takeaways and in fact a few Nepalese restaurants, so I am likely to order else where in the future because of the experience. The food isn't all that!

My first time trying Nepalese food - I could not recommend this place enough! The highlight was the macha maleko, a tilapia curry so full of flavour that it was probably one of the best curries I've had in my life. We ordered a couple of other curries and a lentil daal, which were really good. We also tried momos, Nepalese dumplings, which were quite nice but a little chewy. The staff were polite and friendly. As with any restaurant on Cowley road, it was tricky to find parking, but that will not stop me coming back to this place sometime soon!

Wonderful restaurant! The service was lovely and the meal was perfect. Although I've had South Asian cuisine many times, this was the first time I tried Nepalese food. I was absolutely blown away by the dishes at Kadai & Naan. Each dish was bursting with flavor and spice. And the food is actually spicy! I ordered lamb momo, fried lentil cakes, prawn kursani, chili chicken noodles, and saaq rice. I enjoyed every single dish!!!! The amount of food was generous, especially considering the price. I had leftovers, but those were promptly eaten the next day, without a single morsel remaining. I highly recommend this place and can't say enough good things about it.
